Tis’ the Giving Season. Due to COVID and our relocation to a Hotel, we are asking for Christmas Gift Cards/Cash Donations to best serve our clients and keep everyone safe. The Gift of Shelter is another way to help us get folks off the street and on their feet We thank our generous community for you support.

A Place Called Home has been selected as part of the 2020 Lowe's Canada Heroes Campaign. Throughout this month, our local Lindsay Rona store will be collecting donations at the till and matching up to $2,000. We are so thankful for our generous community supporters!

What a way to kick-off our $1.5 million dollar fundraising efforts for our new shelter! We too are overwhelmed and thank each and every one. Never doubt the big difference you make in our Community.

Exciting times ahead for our agency!

Retirement announcement It is with regret but warm wishes that we announce the retirement of Executive Director Lorrie Polito, effective July 24th. Lorrie’s leaving marks the end of an era for A Place Called Home. She was our first employee and her vision has guided our agency for 25 years, growing our emergency shelter from the initial 5-bedroom house into the 19-bed shelter on Lindsay St. We wish Lorrie the best of luck in her future endeavours and thank her for her years o...f service to the homeless of the City of Kawartha Lakes and County of Haliburton. Due to COVID no celebration is planned at this time.

Our Admin Office will be closed on Monday August 3 for the Civic Holiday. However our shelter staff are still available for support.
