Body Composition Testing Coming to Apex! We are excited to announce that we will have the InBody machine at Apex Wellness from October 12th-15th! The machine records all your body compositions metrics so that we can track it over time. ... We are hoping to have the machine in the gym every 3 months or so. The cost per test will be $15/person. We are bringing back our referral program for the fall! From now until October 31st, for every client you refer to us that completed at least one paid workout, you both will receive a free workout in return! We have received a number of referrals over the past year, and this is our way to say thank you for continuing to support us and for sharing our name with others!

Importance of In-Season Training As we move into sports season and athletes’ schedules fill up with practices and games, one often overlooked part of their regimen is in-season training. As seasons wear on, the level of wear and tear and stress on the body increase and your chance of injury increases as well. ... This is where in-season training comes in. Our focus for athletes during this time of year is maintaining strength and mobility, more than building those components. Reducing strength loss doesn’t guarantee an injury won’t occur, but it can greatly reduce that risk. We do, however, want to make sure that we’re training only an appropriate amount. Overtraining syndrome can easily occur in athletes with incredibly busy schedules. With practices, games, school and homework taking up their time and energy, we want to be sure that we provide the minimal amount of additional stress to the body that yields the greatest benefit. As little as one session a week can reduce losses in strength and mobility that occur naturally throughout the season.
At Apex, we are always looking for new ways or methods to track progress. We will have a new way to track body composition, courtesy of our friends at Optimal Wellness in St. Paul. We are looking at getting it to use for the last week of September! We are excited to be bringing in the InBody Test machine, a body composition machine that can give us a wealth of information in under a minute. It will allow us to measure muscle, fat mass, and more inside your body and specific...ally in each limb. This will allow us to track your body composition in very fine detail, which is a useful tool for anyone who is aiming to improve their health through nutrition and/or strength training. We will have access to the machine for one week and hopefully every 2-3 months thereafter, but we will keep everybody updated as we iron out all the final details!
