Day 13 of August Artventure and the prompt JEWELS OF THE NILE (lol my nickname in highschool was Jude of the Nile JOTN) I am always in awe of the exquisite beauty of Queen Nefretiti and her royal jewels! I had the opportunity to see many Egyptian jewels and artifacts many years ago at the British Museum.

Day 12 of August Artventure and the prompt PORTSIDE IN PORTUGAL I found this beautiful port called Porto by accident while researching ports in Portugal as I accidentally added the o and ended up discovering this beautifully coloured port city!

Day 11 of August Artventure and the prompt CREATIVE IN CUBA I am in awe of all the murals and art in the streets if Cuba...so I decided to do a muralist being creative painting a mural on an apartment building.

Day 10 of August Artventure and the prompt was A VISION IN VENICE This beautiful girl is quite the vision in Venice witha gondola behind her on the Grand Canal and visions of gondoliers riwing through the vanal reflect in her subglasses and camera lens!

Day 9 of August Artventure and the prompt was SUNSETS IN SICILY OK I took the plural literally lol...7 sunsets

Day 8 of August Artventure and the prompt was BUBBLY IN BELIZE What a beautiful place...would love to go scuba diving in the Blue Hole there and see all the exotic fish and sea life!

Day 7 of August Artventure and the prompt was IRRESISTIBLE IN ICELAND My first instinct was ice cream...so I found this awesome ice cream shop Valdis!

Day 5 of August Artventure and the prompt was AUCKLAND ART JOURNAL So, this month ling challenge I am doing is with artist Jane Davenport. She recently came out with a new product called Ladybug Dotters which are very much like bingo daubers but in beautifully coloured inks. So I was thinking I would do an artist painting in her art journal somewhere in Auckland, New Zealand. When I was doing research on a location for inspiration, I came across the Auckland Art Gallery To...i o Tmaka and an installation by artist Yayoi Kusama called The Obliteration Room. It is a huge white room furnished in minimalist all white furniture and décor. Visitors are given a sheet of stickers in various size dots and colours chosen by Yayoi...they can then put those stickers ANYWHERE in the room that they choose. A very interactive and progressive art piece. Well, I envisioned Jane getting all excited when she heard she could put dots all over the room deciding to use her favourite Ladybug Dotter...until she gets told to use the provided stickers...OOPS!!! Secretly Jane thinks her shade if blue is much prettier lol. See more

Day 4 of August Artventure and the prompt was FLOUNCING IN FLORENCE I had the opportunity to visit Florence with my mom when I was 15...I loved seeing all the old architecture! Of course, my favourite colour pink had to be the star of the show!

Day 3 of August Artventure and the prompt was SKETCHING IN SWEDEN Lol somehow it turned into me doing the sketching in Sweden

Day 2 of August Artventure and the prompt was FLOATING ON THE FJORDS i wish I had more time but quite like how it came out. Trying to do a painting a day sure ramps up your creativity and gets you thinking quick...while just living with and accepting what happens. It's great to learn to accept the mess and just enjoy the journey and to learn to let go and find beauty in the mess. I find I experiment a lot more which can lead to disaster or amazing new techniques or discovering a hidden quality of art supplies you didn't know about!
