Happy Halloween!! A family tradition when we were kids (and young adults) - making caramel apples. Mom would make dozens of these. The neighbourhood kids (and parents) would always make a stop at our farm to make sure they got one of Diane’s caramel apples. ... Continuing on with that tradition today. So many of you have asked what we do with the leftover apples (and squash when we have them) when we close for the season. Each year the Knights of Columbus come out and pick all of the apples that are left to donate to food banks. Thanks to the volunteers from St Marks and St Patrick’s churches, 10 bins of apples are making their way to food banks across York Region and the Good Shepherd in Toronto for distribution to those who need them. ... #applewoodfarmstouffville #farmerssharing
