Did you know????? If you own a classic car, you may not be well insured regardless of what you requested. Lets say you own a car or truck that has a value in excess of MPI's $50,000 max value on a typical licence plate/insurance policy, and the worst thing happens....it burns. So badly, in fact, that the condition can no longer be determined. Here is a scenario that often presents itself...... Your pride and joy is finally ready for the road, so you go into to your neighborhood insurance broker, and are told the maximum value on a typical policy is $50,000 (varies in some provinces.) However, you feel your car or truck is worth $75,000, so you request insurance in excess of the basic $50,000 in coverage. You pay $7 per $1000 in premiums, so if your car or truck is worth $75,000 in your mind, you request an additional $25,000 in insurance at $7 per thousand, costing you an additional $175 annually, right? Well did you know that by doing exactly that, you only set a ceiling on what your insurance carrier can offer you? You may think you have your classic insured for $75,000. However, your insurer can still offer you $20,000. The most popular answer is "well we asked you how much you wanted, and you told us an additional $25,000." DON'T TAKE THE CHANCE.... Have your car or truck appraised by our experts at Appraisal Pro, and acquire proper value insurance. Contact AppraisalPro.ca to find how to protect your investment.

Here's an unfortunate example of why it's a good idea to know what your car is worth.

Here's are some words from a satisfied Appraisal Pro customer... "I was confounded by my insurance company when they estimated the value of my vehicle in a total loss settlement. I had taken care for 15 years as the only owner of my vehicle keeping meticulous records and maintaining the vehicle to a high standard. The insurance people would not budge when dealing with me directly, even after I provided extensive research and documentation as to the value of my vehicle. After ...spending hours doing of work on my own only to be bumped up about $400, I proceeded with an appeal process and found appraisalpro.ca during an online search. Dealing with Appraisal pro was such a good choice. I found they responded very quickly, very professionally. The appraisal process was simply, they took all my information and listened to my concern and demonstrated that they were on top of the case. They took over the negotiation with the insurance company and doubled the settlement in a very short time. I would highly recommend Appraisal Pro if you are at all in a battle with your insurance company, they are fair and fast and you will not be disappointed." Geoff - Vancouver BC

This weeks AppraisalPro "Hot Tip" No fault insurance means It’s not my fault. True? ... False. There’s always fault assigned in an accident. Whether it is all assigned to one person or it is shared will depend on the situation. No Fault only means your insurance company pays for your damages. If you were in any way responsible for the accident, then chances are you’ll see an increase in your car insurance rates. On the other hand, if you are 100% not at fault for the collision, your rates won’t likely increase, even though your insurer covered the damages. They’ll recoup their losses from the other driver’s insurer.
