JOIN (UN)TOLD this Sunday to hear a story told by SHAWN ANTHONY. Shawn is a father, partner, son, brother originally from Fogo Island. When Shawn was a kid, his... parents moved from their small Newfoundland outport to the west end of Scarborough, where he spent his childhood and into his 20's until he moved here to Ottawa. Shawn is a Marketer, a storyteller and a writer, having published many of these stories in his first book, APSE THE GATE (Available on his website: www.shawnanthony.ca). He is also one of the speakers in the Ottawa StoryTellers' 2021 Signature Series (https://www.ottawastorytellers.ca//signature-series-apse-t). Shawn is currently spending time in the studio where he is working on his podcasts. He'll be sharing some of his stories in the style that he heard them in his Uncle's Fogo Island Story. This Sunday evening, Untold Ottawa will be hosting their monthly storytelling event, where local storytellers will be sharing their true stories based on a monthly theme. This month, the theme is inside out. The stories are live and told without props or notes. I’ve been a member of this group for nearly 2 years and before the pandemic, we would perform in front of a live audience in Centretown Ottawa. But now due to Covid, we will be doing this digitally. ... The silver lining here is that it doesn’t matter where you are, as long as you have access to a computer, you can watch this from the comfort of your couch for absolutely free, without risk of catching some crazy virus. Our Artistic Director holds the awesome task of finding, booking and managing every performer that you see on the Celtfest stage and we are looking for someone to assist with the entire process! If you have experience in these areas, would like to gain more, or would like to learn how a music festival creates a performer lineup, applies for grants, manages schedules and books a variety of entertainers - we would love to have you on the team! This position requires year-round involvement. It exists as a member of the Board of Directors. Interested?
