Are you as excited for the rainy season as we are?! Below are some neat facts about groundwater recharge on Gabriola to get you ready to welcome the rain! Did you know? 75% of precipitation on Gabriola occurs from October to March. From January to April, the water table level remains fairly consistent with recharge and discharge being about equal, meaning our water usage and refill rate from rain is balanced. From April to September we drain our groundwater stores until the rainy season commences and the water table rises again! *Source: Groundwater Recharge Model for #gabriolaisland R. Burgess and D.M.
