Justin Lupien added 12 new photos. 3 mins Patricia M-Stilwell Do you have a photo of the finished project?... Weve done quite a few! They all start to look the same...lol! These steel center stringer staircases are only 1 style of the thousands we can offer but they sure have gained popularity.
Walnut closed rise with stainless inlay.
Classic lambs tails with welded iron work.
Swish Developments - Black steel with suspended glass.
Steel Zig Zag with double landings. Choucair Residence.
And eventually we will have it looking like our rendering...
Rozendaal residence - this home is in a prestigious neighborhood and perhaps 7 - 8 years old. Notice the before picture. It is the difference between working with a true custom builder (Hardwood and Stone) and a cost cutting regular builder (Carpet with Low Grade Posts & Spindles). At Architech Stairs & Railings, we are not fans of low grade designs.
Steel zig zag stringers in white with white oak treads and handrail. StyleLab Homes Edmonton.
March 2017 - Some work from this week.
Ambleside-Signature Penthouse suite in South Edmonton. This beautiful curved staircase is constructed out of double curved 6" pipe with 5" uprights maple treads, 12mm curved glass with stainless handrail.
Kim residence. Steel powder-coated zig-zag stringers with 2.5" thick Birch treads, 12mm glass and stainless handrail.
We dont often showcase much of our classic style work as it is not our main focus, however we do still have the capability. Macbeth residence. Sylvan Lake Alberta.
Lach Residence - Freestanding Zig Zag Boxed stairs, Edmonton, Alberta. 12mm Glass through stair stringers.

Here was a nice little Walnut job we did for In-Design. We often get into nice areas where the house is worth renovating although more often torn down, in this case renovated and the overall outcome was a success. Not always a guarantee when working with smaller spaces.
This beautiful DNA stainless spiral staircase was probably one of the smallest stairs but one of the longest to complete. The design originates out of the UK and after our client brought a photo to us I spoke with my fabricator and he said yes I think I can do that?. 2.5 months later and a lot of tweaking we had the core. We wanted to rap it in glass but the slight changes in tolerances made it very difficult so our client finally opted for stainless bars. I was disappointed that we couldnt get the glass but swore on the next one we will make the glass work. Still looks alright and client was quite happy.
This Grand Tigerwood Flared Staircase is accompanied by a special edition Gothic style post designed by Architech Stairs & Railings owner Justin Lupien. Convex 3" thick solid Gancolo Alves treads AKA (Tigerwood) make for an extremely heavy staircase. Includes paneled stingers and lower convex closed rise stair with same nosing thickness to the upper staircase.
Turning a split staircase with an 8 ceiling into something inspiring is a challenge to begin with. Adding flares, colour contrasts, and glass seemed to do the trick. Split flared stairs, paint-grade stringers, walnut open rise treads and walnut rail with 10mm glass. This staircase was on a television show the Re-Modelers. The Re-Modelers eventually went bankrupt owing clients and suppliers millions....fortunately we got paid before that all happened.
This continuous elliptical freestanding 3 story staircase was said to be impossible to build by 4 other custom staircase companies in Alberta but here it is, with the aid of our structural engineer Anthony. Open rise maple convex treads, completely continuous inside rail, bullet profile. The irregularity in the ellipse proved to push the curved glass option beyond the already high $97,000 budget, so the final option ended up being 327 pieces of polished edge 10mm glass.
Walnut open rise staircase with paneled stringers, rope twist spindles and panel posts. A slight flare out at the bottom of the stair near the entrance was added to flow with wall end and make the staircase seem more inviting.
Wenge center stringer freestanding staircases with integrated upper landing, Cumaru treads 2.5" thick, Craftsman reveal panel posts with double top rail in Tamarack profile.
Toronto stair install. Zig Zag boxed style closed rise stairs, 12mm glass, stainless handrail.
Getting closer to completion! Double curved 6" tubing with 2.5" solid Maple treads, 12mm Curved tempered glass and 1.66" diameter stainless handrail...
Black posts with glass suspended on stainless rods. Center stringer split stairs.
Construction grade stair modified into Sawtooth Stringer with 12mm glass.
270 Twist, freestanding with support heel
Mariner post with open rise stair, paneled stringer, and non-slip pattern treads
