Here is the promised teaser of the testing video of a new set of Prototype Underwater video lights. The lights have 3 settings of white light and one UV Settin...g. They do not need yellow filters for either video or constant light photography. Thanks very much to Chris Straub for trusting me to start testing on these lights. More video to follow. Only basic clip editing was done to this video with no colour adjustments or other effects. I will try more tests with various techniques and white balancing in the near future. Brad test diving the new Archon W40UV lights in Bonaire! The lights put out 12W of 395nm UV light that does not require the yellow filter on the camera lens or the dive mask. Thank you to all that made Divers Weekend 2018 at the Vancouver Aquarium the success it was. The booth location and my 'neighbors' Anglerfish Creative Lighting, Ocean Quest Dive Centre, Rendezvous Dive Adventures, Nanaimo Dive Outfitters, Sea to Sky Scuba, Sea Dragon Charters made for an entertaining weekend!! I had an opportunity to try out the new custom designed Archon W40VR/UV 395nm lights in Hawaii a couple of weeks ago. The idea behind these lights is that by using a wavelength of 395nm for UV you can eliminate the yellow filter on the lens of the camera and dive mask that's usually used when diving with the much more widely spread 455nm blue lights. The built in 2600lm white video light with 5 intensity settings lets you have the best of both worlds. UV possibility without t...he need for a filter combined with a video light and focus light in one small package. Without the yellow filter on your lens you can do everything in one dive... Take pictures of florescent subjects and standard strobe/video! The presence of fluorescence on my night dive was a little disappointing but the lights worked great! Run-time on white light and full power is 75 minutes and on UV 150 minutes. Another major advantage is the user replaceable Li-Ion battery.
