Today is Bell’s Let Talk Day, created to raise awareness and combat the stigma surrounding mental health issues. But this is not something that’s important one day a year. This is important every day, now more than ever. If you are struggling, reach out. If you suspect that a loved one is struggling, reach out. You are worthy, always. #bellletstalk

The cold, dark days of the winter, coupled with the social restrictions we’re under right now, could easily leave us with a case of the winter blues. Argyle Natural Health Centre would love to help you get back to feeling better. In the meantime, here are some tips that might help lift you up! 1. Get more light! Take advantage of any of the sunny days we get! Although being outside is best, even being in a room with lots of sunlight can be helpful. You can also invest in a ...SAD Lamp, which mimics the type of light we need. A good Lamp needs a brightness level of 10,000 lux, so make sure you check that. Whether it’s natural or artificial light, try to get a minimum of 20 minutes a day, preferably in the morning. 2. Exercise. Although it’s definitely tempting to curl up on the couch, exercise will raise endorphin and serotonin levels, and help you feel much better! And if you can exercise outside, then you tick off 2 boxes! 3. Endorphins feel good! Another way to boost endorphins is to visit your chiropractor and massage therapist regularly! Aside from the other obvious benefits, both chiropractic and massage treatments have been shown to release endorphins! 4. Vitamin D3. It’s fair to assume that if you live in Saskatchewan, you’re likely to be Vitamin D deficient. The sunshine vitamin plays many important roles, including improving mood, balancing hormones, supporting immune health, and many more. A typical dose is between 2000 and 4000IU a day, but check with your naturopathic or medical doctor for specific recommendations. 5. Eat well. We function best when we fuel our bodies right. Junk food that is high in fats, sugars and preservatives make us more sluggish, and increase inflammation, as well as depress our mood. 6. Hang in there! It might seem as if winter will never end, but the days are already starting to get longer, and Spring will get here eventually! In the meantime, try incorporating these suggestions into your routine, stay connected with your loved ones, even if it’s only virtually, and come see the chiropractors, massage therapists and naturopaths here! www.argylenaturalhealthcentre.com 306-352-4242 See more

In the last year, much has changed. We have collectively been called to adapt and adjust in almost every aspect of our lives, both literally and figuratively, and we live in a world where things aren’t how we want them to be. It’s easy to get caught up in and overwhelmed by the imperfections we see around us. The Japanese have an ancient concept they call wabi-sabi, which in a nutshell, refers to the art of finding beauty within the imperfections of life, and celebratin...g the marks that time, weather and love leave behind. Leonard Cohen brought this concept closer to Canada with his words There’s a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in. So let’s let go of the belief that things have to be perfect to bring us happiness, and find joy and beauty in our imperfect lives.
