Post holiday reset isn’t a phrase I live by anymore! Yes, no more gorging on food and living the cycle of guilt for weeks after! My crew I’m teaching with Ariel’s Athletics is expericing the beauty of whole food eating and all of the natural medicine food has to offer! This holiday season to prep for big meal days we fueled our bodies with smoothies chalk full of healthy goodness! Why? Because aids in digestion, fat disposal and increases hydration! When your body is fueled right 90% of the time, it doesn’t fight you the other 10%. Merry Christmas ya’ll!!! This tired mama still brought the festive light to bootcamp last night and I want to share that workout with YOUUUUUU!!! Grab some weights big and small (soup cans or a bag of books will do!) and get ready to sweat!! SANTA NEEDS US, HURRY!!!!! 8x4. (45 sec work, 12 sec rest, 4x through) 1) Starlight crunch (side plank crunch) ... 2)reindeer at the ready (bear pose pulse) 3) Santa maker (man maker) 4) Get in the sleigh (single leg step up knee drive) 5) ride the sleigh (vup hold with battle rope waves- can use weights or water bottles) 6) lift the heavy Santa bag (reg deadlift) 7) time to go hoist the sleigh (squat thrusters) 8 ) grab the bag! And go! (Single side suitcase squat- weight in one hand, narrow squat) ENJOY THE SWEAT-TACULAR EVENT!!!!

Hey ya’ll so just a thought for today... As a coach I have heard it all and I mean ALL OF IT. What am I talking about? EXCUSES. Heck I have even made those same excuses and I even felt validated in them. But ya’ll the truth of the matter is whether I felt like I had a valid excuse or not in the end the only person who lost out was ME. Yup..... my excuses hurt no one but me usually. Why am I bringing this up? Because like anything as we begin to get into a routine our... brain starts to get comfortable in justifying little things such as I worked out hard this week I deserve this treat all the way to I’m exhausted and have a million things on my plate and I will get back to it when things slow down. Well I’m here to tell you it starts with one, then 2, the. 3 and before you know it you are asking yourself how you failed again , beating yourself up as you look for the next solution ....... stop...... there is only one solution....: YOU. It begins, continues and ends with YOU. I know right about now if you have made it this far you are reading you are either feeling mad, shameful or full of I can’ts. BREATHE YOU CAN it’s ok to feel these things but breathe and truly look yourself in the mirror and ask yourself have I given my 110% effort forgoing ALL excuses? If you can say yes congrats you are on the right path but if you say yes and feel that pit in your stomach knot up ... then you aren’t being honest with yourself. It’s time to make that change, know that it won’t be easy but that YOU ARE WORTH IT. A great example: Allison Eytcheson committed over 6 months ago to her journey with me at Ariel’s Athletics and it wasn’t easy BUT she forged forward. On Monday she fractured her hand..... HER HAND GUYS!!! How much stuff do we do with hands in bootcamp? A TON. She, cast and all us decided that this small bump with not stop her. She has made adjustments to do exercises in replacement or to modify as she can but she CONTINUES to show up because she believes any step forward is step towards success and she is right. Another example is one for myself. I have committed to my friend Lanea Miller’s Program so She and I can stay accountable to each other ( she is in my program too) and sometimes the timing for classes doesn’t work out in my busy schedule. Does that mean I don’t do them??? HECK NO. It means exhausted or not I find time that day even if it’s 9 pm and baby has run ragged all day. Be stronger than your excuses. You are worth every ounce of dedication and every ounce of self love. You are beautiful, caring and a BADASS GODDESS!!!
