Including: I OF THE STORM January 2001, 20 YEARS AGO my first big album was released (meaning: I was actually going to spend the money and have 500 Compact Discs burned, not just cassettes)!! My album was funded by the Canada Council For The Arts, and all of my closest friends gathered around me to help get the recording done: a very experimental album, heavily influenced by The Flaming Lips, Red House Painters, Nick Drake, Jeff Buckley, Tortoise and Tori Amos. Brian Wiebe refined the project into listenable, quantized metre and tune. This album has 16 tracks but we originally recorded 23 tracks. I wanted it to be a timeless opus. Gah. Hilarious. There is some pure gold in these songs. Hope you get to enjoy the journey! It is my honour to perform live music for you and yours, tomorrow evening, this Thursday, Dec 31, to celebrate this anomaly that is 2020! Every once in awhile I get something inside my soul and can’t shake it. This weekend (my birthday), this Bjork song came and wouldn’t leave me alone, and I couldn’t stop finding instances to sing it, as though from a top of a mountain.
