Well, it's official! We are done harvesting all of our honey for this season. Although it was a rough start to 2020 for our bees (we unfortunately lost many hives last winter), we were able to re-establish our bee yards, and even ended up with a larger harvest than last year! This year also officially marks my 5th consecutive year beekeeping, and I couldn't be more thankful for all of those who have supported me to this point, and who continue to support year after year.... We hope that everyone has a fantastic and safe Thanksgiving! #thankful #thanksgiving #honey #harvest #satisfying #fall #canada #ontario #honeybees #localbusiness #local #savethebees #leaves #october #kawarthalakes #beekeeping #beekeeper

Sunsets in the distance of our main property. (Also, check out our fantastic custom gate!) We are starting to get really excited for this year's Fall season , and will be doing our major harvest in the next few weeks. Stay tuned to our social media pages and our website for when you will be able to order honey again! #honey #sunset #autumn #fall #canada #ontario #honeybees #localbusiness #local #savethebees #september #custommetalwork #custom #gate #apiary #arissapiaries #harvestseason #harvest #halloween #pumpkin #leaves #instagram

Great morning in beeyard #2! We got in and out pretty efficiently, knowing that a storm was well on it's way. @ Lindsay, Ontario

May 20th: World Bee Day Although I personally think that our girls are special enough to be celebrated everyday, today is the official day of celebration. Can you imagine a world without bees? I sure can't! Limited vegetables!? Loss of flowers!? No way!!! From the bottom of my heart, thank you to all of the endlessly hardworking bees ... -Ethan For more information, please visit: https://www.un.org/en/observances/bee-day

Hello Spring 2020! Although the weather has been a bit temperamental these past few weeks, and the world has been slowed down, we have been busy busy busy! Spring is the start of the busy beekeeping season, and one of my favourite times of the year! I love getting back out to see our girls, and to start prepping for the summer months. We always try our very best to assess and reuse as much of our equipment as possible. Unfortunately, sometimes the frames get a bit old to... use, or sometimes even break, so we have to replace them. To help minimize the amount of waste/recycle we produce, we clean all frames that can be reused for the next season. A big thanks to my family and girlfriend for helping out these past few weeks. Don't know how I could do it without you guys. Cheers to another great year ahead of us! #2020 #beekeeping #ontariohoney #honey #honeycomb #honeybees #springcleaning #season #spring #instagood #photography #ontario #canada #kawarthalakes #kawarthas #green #nature #naturelovers
