Fuck the whole idea that you’re a work in progress. It carries this subtle undertone implying there’s something wrong with who you are now. It’s just another ...way of rejecting your present self, another way of saying you’re not good enough yet. You are enough. You don’t need to be anything other than who you already are, and that’s what healing is kinda all about. Healing is often rooted in this belief that something’s wrong with you, but in fact, it’s just the opposite. Healing is understanding that actually nothing is wrong with you. It’s the surrendering to what is. It’s acceptance. Let’s ditch the language that implies we’re not enough, because we are more than enough : Anna Johnson

Back in the day, when I was anorexic, the thinner I got, the more compliments I got. You’ve lost so much weight! You look amazing! What’s your secret? Well,... I eat two grapes a day, and work out for two hours. I’m literally dying. But thanks? I was 35 pounds lighter than I am now, and sick, and tired. I was sold a lie of perfection by others...and I chose to believe it. Now I have muscle. Poofy places like this belly that goes up and down depending on the day. I’m vibrant and strong. I work out for 30 minutes and move on. I love to eat. I no longer give five flying fucks about the scale. I listen to my being deeply and it tells me what it needs. I know how to give it balance, repair, growth, pleasure, cleaning, and consistent fun. Let’s unravel one thing today: Being thin does not necessarily mean you’re healthy or fit and being curvy does not necessarily mean you’re unhealthy or unfit. We can stop fetishizing thin people as better or healthier somehow, and start sharing our real bodies. Even if you’re naturally thin. Our society places a great weight on, well, weighing less. And this causes so much unnecessary stress, insecurity, and disempowerment in women everywheremaybe you’ve felt this too? Instead, let’s reframe this: Begin a new mantra now: . Yes we can choose to eat anything we want, and no, we should not be shamed for it. Yet the step beyond this big middle finger to diet shame is to begin a new, soulmate-level relationship to food. Instead of a punishment or reward, what you eat can become an act of service, and then even one of love, towards your beautiful body that works so hard for you, day and night. Food can be a healing ritual, a thank you note, a way to honor your vessel and be the kind mother you either had or needed. Or it can be your worst fear and nightmare. I knowI was there for 10 years, and then I switched. I turned to my diet as part of the relationships I aim to healthe ones with family, loved ones, and all the ways I offer to my primary soulmate ME. How about you? Could you do a little more of this too? Did this speak to you today? Let me know! Sadie See more
