This is Bliss

Today I uncovered these beautiful pieces of jewelry as I was organizing. It brought back fond memories the day that I brought them home. A few years ago I trave...lled to Nicaragua with a friend of mine. I marvelled at the skilled Artistry that was out for display from all of the street vendors that we encountered on our daily walks. I was very taken with the style and precision of one of the Jewelers and we stopped and visited with him most days as we headed out on our adventures. A couple days before we left, I told him how much I admired his work and then half-jokingly, I said what I had been thinking since we met him... "I don't suppose you'd be willing to train me as your Apprentice"? He said "be here tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. sharp and I will train you". The next morning I went down to join him at his booth on the Street in downtown Granada. So excited to start my day! Roberto spent the entire day teaching me his wire wrapping techniques. He would show me and then instruct me to do it myself and if I didn't do it right I had to take it apart and do it again until I got it right. Although each day there was a true adventure... this was one of the most exciting and memorable parts of the trip! Going to Nicaragua in of itself was way out of my comfort zone! And... I am so grateful that I found the courage to actually ask for what I wanted and my wish was granted. It took all day but I made these beautiful pieces of jewellery. There have been other times that the universe has blessed me with such a powerful acknowledgement of my hearts desires, but this one will always be special to me. I am so grateful... that I found the courage to speak up.... that he was a willing teacher... and that I didnt miss out on this experience because I was afraid to ask for what I wanted. Terence Hill
