If you don’t floss, you miss cleaning 40% of your tooth surfaces. Make sure you brush and floss twice a day!

I thinks this also applies to apples and carrots... but either way a good fact to know! :)

Now here's a topic that has come up a lot in the last month. A lot of parents wonder whats the point in fixing your child's cavities if their baby teeth are just going to fall out anyway. Take a look at the chart attached. Let's say your child was diagnosed with a cavity on their first molar when they are 5. Sure they may not be in pain at the time, but do you really want to wait 6 years for that tooth to fall out, with it potentially causing them pain? When a cavity gets too... big and starts to affect the pulp of the tooth, then that tooth may need a root canal. If the tooth is too badly decayed and a root canal won't help, that can lead to an extraction. It is SO IMPORTANT that a child has all their teeth healthy and in their mouth when they are growing up. If you leave cavities in their baby teeth is can also affect the developing adult teeth which can then cause them more pain in the future. If any new or existing parents ever have any questions regarding their child's teeth, you call us at 905-472-5858 or book an appointment to see the dentist http://www.armadaledentistry.ca/

And this is why we have Dental Professionals! It is SO important to maintain good oral health, because even though enamel is the hardest substance in the body, plaque can still destroy it! #Dental #Health #Armadale #Dentistry http://www.armadaledentistry.ca/

Do you need to replace a tooth or several teeth? Have you ever thought about having implants or a bridge placed? Obviously its way better to have teeth then to not, but many people choose not to do anything to fill the spot after having an extraction. Here's some reasons why you SHOULD fill that spot. 1. Missing teeth aren't usually aesthetically pleasing, and can actually cause your self of steam to lower 2. The adjacent and opposing teeth to the tooth missing can start to ...drift towards the empty spot! (Since they have nothing to stop them from moving, why not?) 3. Since your tooth is missing, its starts to affect the way you chew when your eating! Training your mouth to chew differently can be very difficult and can cause the muscles and bones in your jaw to become irritated! Have any more questions? Call us to book an appointment to talk to your dentist or visit our website today :) http://www.armadaledentistry.ca/

This is something a lot of people misunderstand. The best type of tooth brush for you to use is a SOFT one. Most people think that using a harder brush does a better job of cleaning your teeth, when it actually does the complete opposite! The hard bristles can irritate the gums and can start to wear down the enamel on the teeth! So remember, when you go out to replace your toothbrush every three months to be getting the soft bristles versus the hard smile emoticon Attached is a video demonstrating how to effectively brush your teeth ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gk8eKm4ajgM
