This morning we made the big announcement on our Indigo Shores page that the QEII Home Lottery is officially coming back again in Spring 2021, and we're all very excited. We're excited to report that Phase Three of The Garrisons, Erindale Estates is now over 50% sold. Our uber-popular split entry model has been completely spoken for, and our two storeys are seeing plenty of interest as well. Since the COVID-19 crisis has begun unfolding in Canada, we've been watching with concern and optimism, like many of you. The one thing we can't help but notice, as we're working safely from home with our families, is that healthcare workers have not stopped. They're stepping up every day and putting their own safety last, to help keep us all strong. Long days, hectic situations, and so much uncertainty are a daily part of their lives, more so now than ever. And they keep on... going. They are heroes. We've always offered a Heroes Dicount on our homes in The Garrisons, Erindale Estates and The Auroras at Kingswood North to military members and first responders, but we're happily extending this discount to include healthcare workers, effective immediately. It's our small way of showing how grateful we are. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

We'd like to let you know that our leadership has made the decision to have the majority of our employees work from home. As such, our office at 145 Hobsons Lake Drive will be closed to visitors. Although this virus may not reach many of us and may have only a mild impact on most that it does reach, it is important that we come together as a community and do whatever we can to minimize the rate at which it is spreading. We want to support our healthcare workers and systems a...nd those in our communities who would be impacted severely. We encourage everyone to remain calm and positive in the current climate. Our undertaking of more working from home is not meant to panic anyone, but is instead designed to make everyone feel safer and make our employees proud that they are doing what they can to support others who will need it in the coming weeks. We're going to be okay - we're tough Nova Scotians and there's not much we can't get through. Let's get through it together - from a safe distance. Another day, another big announcement (we promise it's not usually this exciting around here) We have officially sold our Willow Tree Tower property, at the corner of Quinpool Rd and Robie St, to Shannex Inc. Although the building is changing hands, the parameters approved by council will remain the same: 25 storeys, an integrated bus shelter, and a $1.8 million contribution to HRM's affordable housing fund will still be key features of this redevelopment. ... Shannex will be offering an adult active living community in this location, with spacious suites, a spa, a fitness centre, a golf simulator, a library, a games room and multiple outdoor spaces. This will be the first of its kind in the region. Demolition is expected to begin soon, with an anticipated opening date of 2024 for the new building. We want to thank the public for all the support we have received on this project in the past, and congratulate our friends at Shannex, who are bringing something beautiful and much-needed to the Quinpool Robie area.

Last night, council members for the Municipality of East Hants voted in favour of Wickwire Station, our latest project which will see over 2,200 residential units built on 500 acres in Lantz over the next 10-15 years. It has been an honour to have known and worked with Gerald Mitchell for many years. A savvy, tell-it-like-it-is businessman, he built a successful family-focused homebuilding company that has always given back to the community. Gerald Mitchell truly was one of the good guys, and his passing is felt across the industry. Our thoughts are with his family, his dearest friends, everyone at Gerald Mitchell Contracting, and all of those he has inspired throughout the years.

Last Friday, members of our team attended the 20th Annual Peak Awards, which recognizes excellence in residential construction in our province. We were the proud recipients of three trophies: two for marketing excellence in Indigo Shores, and the Industry Supporter Of The Year award, which we were honoured to accept. But our proudest moments come from seeing our building partners receive recognition for their hard work and dedication. Congratulations to Marchand Homes, ATN Homes, FH Development Group, ReDesigns Construction and Bowers Construction, who all took home some hardware for their achievements over the past year. Have you heard? The Great Big Dig, an annual construction industry fundraiser for The IWK, raised a record-breaking $550,000 during Saturday's gala event.
