About us Hi, my name is Nelson Parada, founder of the Auto Repair Maintenance (A.R.M.) program. As I was growing up, I noticed my parents and other hard-working Canadians struggling financially while having to maintain their vehicles but fearing going to the mechanic. This fear was based in seeing their hard-earned money be taking up by high shop fees, which made it impossible for them to keep up a good car maintenance schedule. Choosing between fixing the car or paying the b...ills is something I say has to stop. As I struggled myself at one point and couldn’t afford to take my car to a shop, I reached out to a friend mechanic and he came and helped me out with my 2005 Buick Rendezvous. While other mechanics said that it needed a new gas pump, (the pump alone was $535, which I didn’t have) I called around and got a new one for $325. I asked myself why those mechanics were charging me $535, plus labour, when the pump cost me $325 somewhere else? Moreover, my friend the mechanic checked my car and found the real problem: there was a wire under the car that wasn't making contact. He charged me $45 to fix it, and I returned the gas pump. I said to myself, why are we paying all this money for fees to the shops? So the A.R.M. program is designed to help Canadians save money and reduce stress while maintaining their vehicles.
