Decrease muscle soreness Decrease lactic acid Decrease swelling/inflammation My intention is to decreased edema in my forearm as I have an overuse Injury. The ratio I use is 2:1 --> 2 minutes of cold 1 minutes of heat. As my intention is to decreased inflammation I am using more cold than heat. The soaks are alternated for a total of up to 15 minutes, with the first and last soak in cold water. Ideally, the baths are repeated once a day. This bucket technique works good for ankle, foot, hand, wrist & forearm injuries. Followed with self massage, using a massage ball to finish with gentle stretches.
