Getting into something we’ve never done before but the results have been amazing so far!

It was December 2019, and we were visiting our family in Guatemala for Christmas. The plan was to drive down (2 hours) to El Salvador to spend New Years Eve, so we did! As we were there, we visited a restaurant at the top of a big mountain where you could oversee San Salvador. Per usual, I ordered a coffee. This was not just any coffee though! It was grown and roasted on site! I thought it was very distinct but something didn't quite taste like just coffee. There was a subtle... taste of spice. It was very unique so I decided to ask what was in it and well...I got lucky because they told me exactly what was in it. To me, that coffee tasted like something I wanted to drink all winter long! Do you see what i'm getting at? Aroma Maya HAD to offer a winter blend! Winter Blend is a rich, full bodied with a dynamic mouthfeel. We recommend using plastic or metal filters when brewing it to allow a full and even extraction of the coffee, cocoa nibs and allspice. A friend shared with us that it makes amazing espresso with an exceptional crema. This is the second year this blend makes its seasonal debut and its coming on strong!

World Barista Series! Remember we said we had one last thing to announce this year? The time has come! And we’ve decided to do this for a good cause. Read below! It's been a while since we've been able to travel around the world freely and we think we can do something about that. It won't replace the traveling experience but it will bring different experiences from several parts around the world! Every coffee has something completely original that makes each and every one of them unique. We want you to taste all those differences! The boxes will come with brewing recipes that we believe work better for those specific beans and interesting facts about them! Think of it as a barista experience from around the world. NIGHT and DAY While each coffee is unique, the roasting process can alter its qualities! Through the roasting process, we will further develop those qualities to give you an entirely different profile using the same beans. The differences between the two are 'night and day'. Day: Roasted just enough to bring out and enhance the integral qualities of the beans. This will allow you to 'taste the region' as we say. Night: Further roasted to deepen the qualities of beans! This will give the beans the taste we all commonly know as 'coffee taste'. Some of the otherwise brighter notes will be deeper and more well rounded. We will only bring in a small amount of each Micro-lot and will have it available until it's sold out. At which point, we will select a different country to feature. The prices between coffee will vary as some are more expensive than others. A portion of the profits will be donated to local organizations in Truro, providing food and shelter to people in need. We really have no words for what’s happened to our friends Vonda and Keith at NovelTea Bookstore Cafe . One thing we know is how resilient they are as they have proven to be this year. They’ll move on to a new space but continue to provide that atmosphere that Truro and area loves. We’ve reached out to them offering our support in any way we can.
