Culture and arts go hand-in-hand to tell the world what we are about and what we value. That’s why government is investing more than $58,000 in the Strategic De...velopment Initiative to encourage partners-in-heritage to develop projects that build on the cultural assets and strengths of communities. This year’s funding supports eight heritage site projects including Àros na Mara Marine Science and Energy Research Centre which is receiving $10,000 to help develop anew, web-based virtual reality experience that will allow visitors to explore Bras d'Or Lake and its diverse habitat. Other heritage site projects include generating a new e-commerce website, producing a series of historic videos, and crafting a new walking tour app. For more information about Central Cape Breton Community Ventures, visit https://arosnamara.ca/community-ventures.
