We recognize the information on COVID-19 is rapidly evolving and changing. We will regularly send out the latest information daily. There is information released nationally, provincially and locally (regional health authorities). As a program of the BC Centre for Disease Control, Chee Mamuk provides the following information that is current as of 4: 20, March 16 2020. At Monday, March 16 Covid-19 briefing, B.C.’s provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister... Adrian Dix shared the following: 1) All gatherings greater than 50 people should be cancelled for the foreseeable future. Note: This is an update from the previous direction that all gatherings of greater than 250 people should be cancelled. 2) British Columbia’s health authorities are directed to immediately move all hospitals in the province to Outbreak Response Phase. This means hospitals will undertake only urgent and emergency procedures and will postpone all non-urgent scheduled surgeries. 3) Pharmacists are being directed to refill prescriptions without a doctor’s note. 4) Doctors will be paid to provide virtual care services to reduce transmission possibilities. 5) A dedicated phone service has been set up for general, non-medical, public inquiries to free up 8-1-1. The number is 1-888-COVID19. This is also a text service. 6) Only essential visitors will be permitted at long-term care facilities. 7) Retired health care providers are being recruited to provide support as needed. 8)Casinos are being asked to temporarily close. Below is a recording to the entire press conference:

The B.C. government has launched a COVID-19 support app to help provide residents with the latest information on the ongoing pandemic. Besides acting as a platform for posting information and alerts, the app also features the B.C. government’s COVID-19 self-assessment tool that can help residents decide if they need to seek Covid-19 testing.
