We are looking for a Kitchen Manager to supervise daily back of house restaurant operations. Kitchen Manager responsibilities include supervising the food prep and cooking, maintaining a fully-stocked kitchen inventory and complying with safety and cleanliness standards. To be successful in this role, you should be able to manage our kitchen staff, provide them with the training they need and guide them to deliver quality food on time. Ultimately, you will ensure all plates are properly cooked and served and our customers have a pleasant dining experience. Responsibilities * Manage kitchen staff and coordinate food orders * Supervise food prep and cooking * Check food plating and temperature * Establish portion sizes * Schedule kitchen staff shifts * Price menu items in collaboration with the Restaurant Manager * Order food supplies and kitchen equipment, as needed * Train kitchen staff on prep work and food plating techniques * Store food products in compliance with safety practices (e.g. in refrigerators) * Keep weekly and monthly cost reports * Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen area Requirements * Proven work experience as a Kitchen Manager, Restaurant Manager or Head Chef * Hands-on experience with planning menus and ordering ingredients * Knowledge of a wide range of recipes * Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations * Excellent organizational skills * Conflict management abilities * Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced work environment * Flexibility to work during evenings and weekends * Certification from a culinary school or degree in Restaurant Management is a plus Full-time, Permanent Salary negotiable based on experience. Over the next weeks and months the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic will be measured, discussed and reflected upon. Small business, especially those rooted in Tourism and events, and those employed by small businesses will be deeply affected; crippled in fact. Our attitude in business and in life has always been to try to find the opportunity in even the most difficult situation. Opportunities for kindness, to serve the community, to provide needed services often surface in the most difficult crises. We all need to remember to be smart, safe, level headed and above all else proactive. But, that doesn’t mean that life, friends, family, adventure and the ability to explore the outdoors are cancelled. In addition to maintaining regular hotel and restaurant operations; Over next few days we will be rolling out plans to release a ‘NO CONTACT’ check in and check out procedure at Lakehouse to enable those of you needing an escape, a change of scenery or a place to self-isolate an opportunity to do so in beautiful @clearlakecountry where hiking, snowshoeing and exploring are NOT cancelled. You will be able to visit with limited to no contact with others, be fed and nourished by the fresh air and beautiful surroundings. We will also be introducing a ‘take home’ meal menu, a trail friendly to go ‘Picnic Basket’ offer, and will be introducing 3 meals per day room service in all of our guest rooms. Restaurant take out orders will continue to be encouraged! We know this situation is less than ideal, and we are living through uncharted territory and times together.
