We’re thrilled that our 2018 Pinot Noir won a Platinum award at last night’s 2020 British Columbia Lieutenant Governor’s Wine Awards! 14 judges from across Canada tasted 744 British Columbian wines and awarded 15 Platinum medals. The grapes for the 2018 Pinot Noir were hand-harvested in mid-October and the fermentation took place in multiple batches, some were inoculated with yeast and others were left to go wild. The wine went into French oak barrels (10% new) for malo-lacti...c fermentation and aging. It was racked in late spring to remove most of the lees and returned to barrels until it was bottled in late summer. This Pinot Noir has a rich, silky texture with aromas of raspberry, cherry, cedar and rose petal that combine with notes of leather, tobacco and earth. We will have this Pinot Noir on our tasting list for the next few weeks. Drop by for a try!

16 short years ago, our winemaker Manuel graced the cover of Wine Trails magazine repping our little winery. (Cover lovingly laminated by Mom). At that time we were one of only 2 wineries (the other being Gray Monk) in Lake Country, making about 3500 cases. Our production has more than quadrupled since, and we've got some exciting new additions to our line-up bubbling in the cauldron for next year! Stay tuned and stay spooky

Our crew is picking and crushing estate grown #Zweigelt grapes for our Summerstorm Sparkling Rosé today! We harvest grapes for sparkling wines early to help maintain fresh acidity and to keep alcohol levels low. After whole-cluster pressing to extract that pretty pink hue, the base wine will be fermented then aged in neutral oak puncheons. After the first fermentation is complete, the wine will undergo a SECOND fermentation inside a specialized pressure tank where carbona...tion will occur. This sparkling wine method was made popular in Italy for Prosecco wines. The 2020 season has been ideal for sparkling wines here in Lake Country. We can't wait to share them with you in the spring!
