The Lady of The Night, is getting ready for her date with her Prince. Epiphyllum oxypetalum (Dutchman's pipe cactus or princess of the night, queen of the night) is a species of cactus and one of the most cultivated species in its genus. ... The Princess of the Night rarely blooms and only at night, and its flowers wilt before dawn.... I am fascinated creating this beautiful piece of art. The story of the Indian Lady who came into my dreams. Sometime in February this year, I met a friend who lives in Canada. He has been living here for a few years and last year he lost his mother back home, in India. He couldn’t give her the last goodbye kiss or hug. His touching story really impacted me. As surreal as it may sound since that night I learned about my friend’s mother, she became the lady that constantly appeared in my dreams. At first, I thought it was just nor...mal as I always dream, and I usually dream of events that impact me but this time it was totally different because she came into my dreams 11 times to give me messages for her children and also, she gave me advice in what was happening to me in my current life. I truly believe that WE people meet in life for a reason and somehow, we are all connected in some ways. I still don’t understand it perfectly but at least I found out why she was in my dreams; she wanted to deliver through me the messages that she couldn’t tell her children, somehow she knew I could relate to her children's feelings and the pain that her departure caused them. She is truly a beautiful soul, mesmerizing I would say! She spoke to me like someone who knew me and relates to me the way I perceive love and pain. In my dreams, we had beautiful long conversations and through her stories, I understood she had seen a lot during her life. She has tapped into reserves of strength, she did not know she had and her strength permeates her being. I got to know the depths of her heart, I felt her pain, her joy, her love, and a huge desire for her kids to be happy and at peace. She has indescribable LOVE and CARE for them. It was fascinating to me how much she knew me and she even could talk about things in the past as well as my present. Her vision is long, eternal I would say. As unearthly as this is, I am so grateful I have experienced it, it has been truly amazing to be in touch with The Indian Lady of my dreams as I called her. Being all this said I decided to honor her; and the only way I could think of, was the only way I can truly express myself: Through painting in which I really tried my best to put all her emotions and deep feelings! Painting her, also made me realized that my mind is infinite, it’s a fountain of creation, I can create from images stored in my subconscious mind. I basically created the painting from the emotions and images that my mind captured from the dreams I prayed to God so many times for her to rest in peace, and after honoring her my way and passing the messages to her children I believe she is at peace as she has never come back to my dreams.
