Title: Dy Mauriyo, Lippan Kaam. Translation of title- Two Peacocks, 'Lippan' translates to clay & 'kaam' to work. The creation process is calming and work is soothing to the eyes. Material: Art is created on MDF board with relief clay base. Added clay texture patterns, tiny mirror pieces as per the traditional Kutch style. About the art and region: This art is also called "Mud and Mirror Work" and is more famous as "Lippan Kaam". This is a traditional mural craft of Kutch, India. Lippan or mud-washing is done using materials locally available in the region like mixture of clay and camel dung keeps the interiors of the houses cool but it can be found on the outer walls as well. Women decorate their home entrance by making these scintillating murals to bring life, gaiety, and beauty generally harsh life of people of Kutch.
