WOOOOOO HOO! I wanted to share a personal and an Art at Will success story!! Being the "curator" of an independent art show comes with a lot of peaks and valleys.... First is the hilly excitement of hanging and viewing all the great and diverse art together on the walls! Then is the dip of fear that all your work will be in vain. Then is the foothill of excitement as many come to the opening and appreciate the beauty and positive intent of the show! Then is the shallow drop of anxiety in your belly when only one art piece sells, and you fear that you cannot live up to the expectations of participating artists. The mountain ahead seems attainable when the press gets hold of your vision and writes a critique! All press is good press... or is it? Elevation changes take their toll, so negative fall out and commentary can make it difficult to catch your breath in this crazy descent! Time to get away and take a break. Hope for a miracle and get some supplies for success. Revitalized and renewed after Christmas holiday, surely now the universe will send me something good? Hello artists of tree show! Today the Paddock Wood will be photographed for Tourism SK. I believe the location was chosen partially because of the great artful background we have created! I will be meeting photographer there at 2:00 to see which backdrop he uses. Does anyone have any objection having your art as a backdrop in a brochure? I will try to get Art at Will or artists name printed, but do not have final control over that. Let me know if you have concerns!

Hi All, I wanted to make a comment about how I felt about todays article on front page of the Star Phoenix. A. I am immensely proud of Miranda who made a name for herself completely on her own. Ironically, I didn't even speak to the reporter, and she chose to give Miranda a plug. What a crazy coincidence that she also happens to be my daughter. B. I am really pleased that many artists got a positive response from the writers critique. C. I am happy that the Woods Alehouse got... a positive plug, as the generous hosts of the show. D. I am happy for the freedom of artists to independently choose how their art should be priced, depending on their own experiences in the marketplace, and their desire to sell work. I am also proud to show very experienced artists alongside less experienced ones, in hopes that all will benefit from the education and experience. E. I think that all press is good press, and encourage all of you to invite 10 friends to see the show, and to support the artists. See more
