I love giving and receiving holiday gifts that are personally created. It reflects the extra effort and energy that had been put into it. Last Thursday I enjoyed the company of a couple of lovely ladies who were creating wine glasses for their loved ones. I listened to them chat about their day and slowly decompress from their busy day. They chatted about who they were going to give their wine glasses to and how they were going to give them and I was struck how thoughtful they were. I just know that whomever will receive these charming creations will appreciate them, because they were made with intent. They were made with friendship, but most of all they were made with love.

Just packing my sketch book for another adventure. This time cycling in Sicily. As I am peeking through to see if there are enough pages, I found these two sketches from Scorch Lake in Algonquin Park from a canoe trip that I enjoyed with my brother, and cousin. Sketching really is the best way. I remember these two lazy day creations, each detailed pencil mark punctuated with conversations, laughter, and even thoughts.
