Set up commences. In a few short hours this space will be filled with art and guests!

This weekend most of our artists will be donating a portion of sales so their chosen charity. Support local art and local charities! Charities include Alberta Ecotrust Foundation, Canadian Mental Health Association - Calgary Region, Women's Centre of Calgary, KOAC Art Centre, United Way of Calgary and Area, Food Banks Alberta, Inn from the Cold, InterVarsity Pioneer Camp Alberta, Calgary Food Bank and the Women In Need Society. Let the giving season begin.

Starting around 6:45 on Thursday night we have a great lineup of short artist talks. Artists speaking are: Manny Blair, Billie Rae Busby, Ashley Wolodka, Allison Morgan, Colleen Rauscher, Wanda Rottenfusser, Kerry Warner, John Ross, Ana Buzzalino and Gary McMillan.

Art Calgary is happening this week! Thursday to Sunday at 1510 7th Street SW. Sixteen artists will be showing their work. A portion of some sales will be donated to charities of the artists' choice. Free and open to all!

Karin Thorsteinsson draws inspiration from nature to paint these soft landscapes on delicate silk fabric, layering dyes using beeswax as a resist. Karin will be donating 10% of her sales to The Women's Centre of Calgary. Manny Blair is an abstract brutalist and the co-founder of Art Calgary. Inspired by Brutalist architecture, Manny uses heavy abstract forms, layering mediums and textures in a very processed based methodology. Manny will be donating 10% of his sales to the Canadian Mental Health Association. #ArtCalgary2019 #artfaircalgary
