Jamie Kroeger is a prairie farm kid turned mountain girl who relies on wilderness, science and culture for ideas and motivation. By means of a multidisciplinary approach, she translates the relationship between people and their environment into object based narratives, using an integration of material, process and concept to further portray the story. It's been a year to the day when AGOG curator Tammy Prather visited Martin Olson's studio in September 2019 to start the creative process of reviewing and making selections from Martin's prolific output of paintings for this week's opening of his solo show "Local Colour." Good things take time! So we're very pleased to welcome Martin to AGOG for his very first solo show! Due to Covid restrictions on gatherings, we can only host a small private reception for Martin's invited guests this Friday evening. The show will open to the public this Saturday and run through until October 17. Please drop in ... admire, and sign the Guest Book.

The #HomeIsGolden contest saw more than 130 submissions by locals and visitors showcasing life and adventure in Golden. We were inspired by the images shared by all of the contest participants but we could only pick six winners! Thanks to the following six people that showed enthusiasm and support for the project by sharing their amazing photos of why #HomeIsGolden for them: Melissa Collison... Rachel Darvill Lane Clark Jess Paloposki Sarah Osadetz Sean Allen The winners were chosen by the team at the Art Gallery of Golden and Kicking Horse Culture - Engage, Energize, Enrich after reviewing more than 130 photographs. Covid-19 impact on our upcoming events Tonight's Small Town Big Time concert POSTPONED: Due to Provincial Health authority guidelines Kicking Horse Culture and ...Smalltown Sound have decided that our best course of action at this time is to POSTPONE our Small Town Big Time concert at the Civic Centre tonight to a later date. This is disappointing for all who have worked so hard to rehearse for and produce the concert so please know we are committed to putting the show back on when the situation is safer for all. Irish Mythen March 21 concert is CANCELLED: We received word from Irish Mythen's management that her Alberta/BC tour has been cancelled at this time. Most of the halls Irish was playing on this tour would have exceeded the 250 people limit and therefore made the tour unfeasible for both the artist and the presenters. Please come into AGOG for a ticket refund. We would very much like to re-schedule Irish, and discussions are already underway re: her touring availability next year. Film Kicks Dolce Fine Giornata at Kicking Horse Movies Thurs. March 19 We're checking in with our wonderful Film Kicks volunteer group and we will confirm on Monday whether this screening will go ahead or be postponed until a future date. Thanks for your understanding folks.

This is a special invitation to drop in to AGOG from 5 to 7pm next Friday February 28 to meet and greet MICHELLE SPRAGG and celebrate the opening of her exhibit 'See the Forest for the Trees' at AGOG. We'll have some refreshments and some complimentary appies to munch on. Around about 5:30pm Michelle will give you a guided 'tour' oh her work and answer any questions you may have about her practice. All are very welcome.

Kicking Horse Culture is seeking out an energetic individual to help us out in Golden and surrounding area. We need a friendly motivated person that can offer 2-4 hours a month to hang posters around town. We have 32-35 locations that allow us to hang the posters in their location.
