Queen's University Art History 16.11.2020

Sorry, we haven't been terribly active on this page lately as we have been exploring other ways of more directly connecting with our community! But with the fall approaching, we do expect to begin posting here more often. If you are interested in art history as a major, medial or minor -- or simply looking for a very popular elective -- 'ARTH 120: Art in the West from Antiquity to Modernity' is your starting point. Here's the syllabus: https://www.queensu.ca//fi/ARTH_120_Syllabus_Fall_2020.pdf Have a look at Professor Una D'Elia's first introductory lecture from ARTH 120, which may give you an idea of how we will be adapting to remote delivery of this course in 2020-2021. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OF4JcCC6e4&feature=youtu.be

As part of her innovative research into medical humanities and art history, Dr. Allison Morehead recently completed an interdisciplinary research workshop, Doing Medical Humanities with Art, Non-Art Objects, and Things, in Oslo, Norway, with the participation of three PhD students from Art History at Queen’s. Here, PhD student Hannah Darvin is handling an object from the University of Oslo collection, while Marla Dobson, a graduate of Queen’s PhD program and now curator of the Museum of Health Care in Kingston, looks on. https://www.queensu.ca/art/news
