Hello to all of my FB contacts. Most you you will be aware that one of my passions is our children's home project in Nigeria. Started by daughter Courtney in 20...05 the children, staff, friends, and neighbours in our rural village have become extended family to us. The Foundation (The Wanted Children Foundation) runs the family home for the 14 children in our care and is the first of its kind in Nigeria, Homestead Altenative Acadamy (school) which focuses on the psychosocial needs of the children to assist them in overcoming the wide variety of severe traumas that they have been exposed to. Anyway, you can check out the web site, the facebook page, Instagram etc for the regular updates. The reason for this post is that Courtney and I are scheduled to fly down to Nigeria on the 14th (july) to check on the construction project which includes the new school building, and two new homes. The children are growing and it is approaching time to separate the boys and girls. We will also be hosting training sessions for the teaching staff and local teachers as well as upgrading our assessments on the children. It all costs money and if you have ever thought that you'd like to support something like this but didn't know how ....... well here you go. You know us, and the foundation is a registered Canadian charity (means that you can get a tax reciept). seriously, any amount will help and all of the funds will go straight to the project site. Cheque, cash, or e-transfer, I encourage you to help us out, some of you have over theyears (thanks) and some of you might consider trying this out. Saving a child feels great. Cheers Steve
