WOW! I am absolutely amazed at our teaching staff, students and parents! What a massive transition to online learning. I had the pleasure of helping a few parents getting connected to the different learning platforms and was able to see and hear our teacher’s, ECE’s and EA’s all interacting online . I am so proud to be at Arthur Stringer! If you need assistance I am at the school give me a call and I will do my best to help.

Important Stringer news... Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s), Within our school community we have some students who have various life-threatening food allergies (anaphylaxis). In majority of cases these allergies involve peanuts and other tree nuts E.g., almond, cashew, hazelnut, pistachio, etc.). Anaphylaxis has the potential to cause severe reactions and, in some circumstances, even de...ath. We need your help and cooperation to further reduce the risk of accidental exposure to these students within our school community. We would ask respectfully that families enjoy peanuts/tree nut-containing treats at home and that you do not send them in your child’s lunch (this includes peanut butter or products with peanuts/nuts listed in the ingredients). Further please be aware that we need to err on the side of caution when it comes to life-threatening allergies and therefore, we ask that families refrain from sending substitutes that look, smell and taste like peanut butter. Please feel free to contact us at the school if you have any question or concerns. Thank you for your co-operation and your continued support of all the members of our school community. - " " - " M&M "

COVID-19 screening tool for school children The Ministry of Health has updated its screening tool for children. The screening tool now has two sets of questions about symptoms that may yield different next steps depending on which symptoms are selected:... The first set of questions asks about symptoms such as fever or persistent cough. Students and children with any of these symptoms will still be advised to stay home until they are able to consult with a medical provider and receive an alternative diagnosis or a negative COVID-19 test. The second set of questions asks about other symptoms that are commonly associated with other illnesses, such as a runny nose or headache: Students and children with only one of these symptoms will be advised to stay home for 24 hours, after which they can return to school if their symptoms are improving. Students and children with two or more of these symptoms will be advised to stay home until they are able to consult with a medical provider and receive an alternative diagnosis or a negative COVID-19 test. In addition, the symptom list no longer includes abdominal pain or conjunctivitis (pink eye). The new screening tool can found at the COVID-19 Screening Tool for Children in School and Child Care.

Reminder tomorrow is Orange shirt day. We wear orange to bring awareness of the harm that the Residential School system did to Indigenous children’s identity, self-esteem and well-being, and as a reminder that everyone around us matters.
