FEATURED ARTISTS: Frank Harper, Born in Yorkshire England Frank now lives in Renfrew Canada with his Canadian wife Pat where he is an active member of Renfrew Art Guild. Frank came to serious painting late in life after a full career in the British Army and a second career in sales. Before moving to Canada he studied Water Colour with Malindy Argylle, a local artist and teacher on the Isle of Wight, England, for several years painting mainly landscapes and seascapes. It was a...fter moving to Canada that he started to paint in acrylic on canvas which is now his main medium. Frank began to explore abstraction and after some struggles this now forms a major part of his work together with his landscapes and seascapes. Frank finds that abstraction lends itself more readily to the exploration of emotions, movement, thoughts and ideas. The exploration of abstraction has resulted in his traditional work showing more freedom and strength, with a much more emotional response to the subject than before. Frank teaches several classes per year and particularly enjoys teaching beginners. Frank’s love of colour, light and the physicality of paint itself shows clearly in all his work. Frank has paintings in private collections in the UK, Europe, Hong Kong, America and Canada.

Featured Artists: Dan Jaques, I am a ‘loco’ artist who loves and is inspired by this beautiful part of the world that we live in. I usually paint from photos that I’ve taken myself and pick the one that inspires me at the moment that I am ready to start a new painting. I prefer realism, but would like to push that boundary a bit if possible. As a member of the Renfrew Art Guild I appreciate the support and encouragement of many local artists. I’m retired and ‘life is good’

Featured Artists: Jelly Massee, I am a Canadian Artist who has worked in Ottawa Valley region for the past 30 years. I prefer working in a realistic manner. That provides me the biggest challenge and gives me the most satisfaction. I have drawn all my life. A day without being creative, is like a day without sunshine!! My mediums of choice are acrylic painting, and lately, colored pencils. I like dabbling in other mediums as well, but those are my favorites.... I do custom work such as painting family members of the past or present, historical sites, pets, animals and much more. I appeared on CTV’s Regional Contact in April 2011. To see this show, (approximately 11 minutes long), please click on this: Jelly’s Video I have exhibited widely in the Valley in Galleries, Museums, and art fairs. Currently, my work is available through my facebook page, this website, and by email. In August 2019, i became a signature member of the Colored Pencil Community of Australasia. A milestone reached. Commission work is always welcome. Contact me if you have any questions or email me a photo you are considering having made into a painting or a drawing and I’ll give you a price!! jellymassee.com
