Three knives for three sisters who used to be ballerinas growing up. Now their ballet is in the kitchen cooking for their families. Craig Henshaw, a Peninsula Lake knife maker, was commissioned to create this special project. The wood for the knife handles came from a tree that grew from walnuts brought by the family’s great great grandfather from Eastern Europe to a farm in Scarborough in the 19th century. This tree grew big and strong and shaded generations of grand kids a...s they played in its arms. When the tree died, Craig created a matching set of three knives as Christmas gifts from the wood. Each knife is similar, with small variations in their forging. Projects like this get my creativity flowing. To have a chance to be a part of this family’s story through my own hands and heart is what I love about my craft. You can find Craig Henshaw online at his website www.henshawblades.com And his daily Instagram: @henshaw_blades #artistsofthelimberlost #muskokaliving #muskoka #localartist #knifemaking
