With the coronavirus effecting everyone's lives, Charmaine is especially thinking about friends she's made in past years. In 2016, Wheatley did an artist in residence at the Krakus Community Center in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. It's difficult staying inside, away from friends and even family. It's only natural that our collective mental well being will become strained. I’m concerned about all our collective mental hygiene but especially those in hospital emergency departments. During a recent zoom chat with @ariannepolletbrannen I took these notes. She’s been working in #halifaxnovascotia Queen Elizabeth emergency department for the past 5-6 years. Since she started there, a big part of maintaining mental & emotional stability has been walking her dog, before her shift, in Point Pleasant Park. I know others who also work in the ER count on ...daily walks in the park too! During this time of caring for #coronavirus patients... when they’re especially needed at their top form, couldn’t ONLY emergency department staff be granted permission to walk in the park? so they can go on risking their own health to take care of others?I’m not suggesting permission to their partners, kids, cousins. Just ER staff who know full well all health and safety protocol?
