#YGKARTSPROJECT ck nosun (@ck.nosun) lives in Kingston/Katarokwi, where they make visual works about and for anti-colonial, environmental, and social struggles. They are focused primarily on highlighting local anti-authoritarian actions, as well as using the sale of their works to raise money for land defence initiatives across so-called Canada. Sample 1: untitled, digital illustration, 2020... In January 2019, Haudenosaunee communities showed their soldarity with Wet’suwet’en land defenders by organizing rolling blockades that caused traffic disruptions along the 401. One convoy travelled at ~50km/h from Akwesasne Mohawk Territory to Tyendinaga. As it passed through Kingston/Katarokwi, a group of folks showed their support with a banner drop. Sample 2: untitled, digital illustration, 2020 A group of homeless folks held down a tent city at Belle Park in kingston/katarokwi for six months during the COVID-19 pandemic. This was actual supportive housing in practice. Homeless people don’t need government-funded agencies to police their every move, and they don’t need self-righteous liberals to tell them what’s in their best interest. Sample 3: untitled, digital illustration, 2020 Over 20 Mohawk warriors who stood on the front lines in Tyendinaga earlier this year faced criminal and civil charges for supporting Wet’suwet’en land defenders by blocking the railways. Prints of this illustration were sold to raise money for their legal fund. [Image Description: Autoportrait: A person is holding a portrait of ck wearing a black hoodie and a black balaclava. Only their eyes and part of their nose are visible. The background is a deep blue. Sample 1:Three supporters of the Wet’suwet’en land defenders stand on a grey bridge, holding their fist up to the sky and dropping a banner that reads "Canada is land theft." Several cars are driving below the bridge. From the window of one of them, we can see someone's hand holding a Mohawk Warrior Flag. Sample 2: A homeless person at Belle Park stands between three tents. They are wearing black clothes and a black headband. They are attaching a sign that reads "No evictions" to one of the tents. There are trees around them. Sample 3: A Mohawk Warrior with a black hoodie stands behind a road blockade. Around them are two Mohawk Warrior Flags and a sign reading "#RCMP get out".]
