Another wonderful weekend is just around the corner and what a better way to enjoy these early "spring" days but to go out and view some art created by local artists. For the months of March and April, the Loft Gallery ( Red Barn/A. J. Ottewell Centre, Broadmoor Blvd) is hosting TWO feature artists/groups. We are pleased to say that the Photography group is putting on their FIRST show at the Loft Gallery. Their show features a wide range of subject matter from vintage trucks to wildlife to landscape. Our event adheres to stringent Covid measures too such as: Limited number of people allowed at one time We limit the numbers of volunteers allowed Masks and sanitizer mandatory... Facility is roomy and spacious for physical distancing Sanitized shopping baskets provided One cash desk, you don't have to pay individual vendors We collect info for contact tracing, which gets you entered into a draw!! We are one day away from our Christmas Marketplace and the excitement is growing!! We hosted an art show in October with stringent Covid rules, so we are ready for this show. We have a limit of 50 people in the barn, which is very spacious. We also limit the number of volunteers in the barn, masks and hand sanitizer are mandatory. We will be gathering email addresses for contact tracing which will also get your name entered in a draw!! Our normal payment system in this show is one cash desk!! You do not have to have contact with multiple vendors!! We accept cash, debit and credit. For those of you wanting to visit with fewer people, there are still spots available on our appointment evening, Nov 14th. Call Norma at 780 991 2009 soon to book. Spots are filling up!!

MEET THE GIFT GALLERY ARTIST: Dianna Sapara Dianna is a multi-talented artist who regularly shows in the Loft Gallery and Gift Gallery. She works in encaustics and alcohol inks and acrylic mediums. Today we are highlighting encaustic creations!

On behalf of the members of the Art Society of Strathcona County a big thank you to the wonderful people who came out to our 35th Anniversary Show this weekend. We are humbled by the continued support of this community, who are there for us in good and bad times. We hope that the art gave you a bit of joy during these times. We had many challenges thrown at us with this show. Not only did we have to come up with many show scenarios with Covid in mind, but we also had to figure out how to set up a brand new display system. This new system was acquired to honor our anniversary and we are very happy with it. BUT WAIT THERE IS MORE... during the show we reached 500 Instagram followers!! Woo hoo, thank you for that. Now we regroup and focus on our next event, the Christmas Marketplace, Nov 14th & 15th. No resting!!
