On behalf of the entire City of Greater Sudbury I want to express our condolences to the Trebek family. Alex Trebek enjoyed international stardom while still ma...intaining that northern charm and spirit that followed him wherever he went. Millions of people welcomed him into their homes every night for decades yet when meeting him, you truly felt like he was an old family friend. Alex was an amazing ambassador for Greater Sudbury and was truly responsible for putting our city on the map for the world to know. He was loved, respected and he will be missed. However his legacy and memory will long be part of Greater Sudbury's proud history. The City of Greater Sudbury will be creating a virtual book of condolences for citizens to leave their messages for the Trebek family, which should be available in the coming days. Flags will also be lowered in Mr. Trebek's memory.

Our Trail Development Services completed 100m of boardwalk at Ojibway Park in Garden River this week. This section is part of a 2km loop that is an offshoot of ...the TransCanada Trail on highway 17. The final phase will connect into the Park with a series of bridges, boardwalks and granular surface. Aanii kina wiya!! We are excited to announce our first workshop since February 2020 (what a crazy time it has been!) Because of the COVID precautions & guid...elines, we have to really limit the amount of people who can participate. So, if you are interested or have some questions. Call in, ask your questions and register.... we have a feeling that these few spots will fill up quick. This workshop is part of a 1-year project ((project titled: The revitalization of Anishinaabek ceramics through archaeology, land, and art-making)); and it is being funded by the Ontario Arts Council; and in partnership with the Gardiner Museum.
