ART for LUNCH. Friday FEB. 14 Audrey Dreaver Title: The Ruby Red Moccasins Time: noon to 1pm Location: RC 050... As students and emerging artists begin the process of publicly exhibiting their work, the term "gallery ready" becomes an important but often misunderstood and underestimated phrase. Using the Cree process of self-reflection, Audrey will share stories of what she has learned from the perspectives of both artist and curator, on what it means to be "gallery ready." Bio: Audrey Dreaver is a painter, curator, lecturer, consultant and advisor. She is nehiyiwak (plains Cree) and her family comes from the Mistawasis and Ahtahkakoop Cree Nations. Audrey holds a BFA Studio Arts and BA Museum Studies from the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA), and an MFA Studio from the University of Regina. Audrey has served on Councils/Boards including Board Chair of TRIBE Inc.; Student Representative to the IAIA Board of Trustees; Member of Canadian Museum for Human Rights Advisory Council; and currently the Saskatchewan History and Folklore Society. Along with her own art practice, Audrey's time is split between Fine Art and Museology researching and teaching art technique, Indigenous art histories, exhibit development, curation, care and repatriation of Indigenous material culture. She is currently a Lecturer at the First Nations University of Canada Indigenous Fine Art Department. Presented in partnership with Sâkêwêwak First Nations Artists' Collective Inc.
