In her original form, she was to be an Egyptian peasant swathed in robes, and titled, Egypt Bringing Light to Asia. See more

Not only do you have the magnificent 15th Century screen, but also what also survives is the stunning 15th Century stone pulpit. It is incredibly rare - for wha...t you are looking at is not painted carved wood - but painted carved stone! The stairs up to the pulpit are a much later addition. See more

FRIDAY THE 13TH. On October 13th, 1307, French king Philip IV the Fair ordered the mass arrest of Knights Templar in the Kingdom of France. That day fell on Fri...day 13th and some consider that the superstition about Friday 13th being an unlucky day stems from this very event. Jacques de Molay was the last Templar Grandmaster who was put to death by burning at the stake on March 18, 1314. His martyrdom against the forces of tyranny become a powerful symbol that many fraternal societies such as the Freemasons referenced in their ceremonies and literature. His final words were recorded as "SPES MEA IN DEO EST, which translates as My Hope Is In God, which was later adopted as a motto of the Scottish Rite.
