Sometimes you gotta just say byeee root maintenance There comes a time when a client will realize their hair needs a break. I love when this happens. Hellooo root melt! Here’s what I did:... Lowlight full head (larger sections) but only pulling down half way with a level 8 Root melt colour level 6 Toner on ends I only pulled the lowlight down half way because she wanted her ends to stay light. This way she can still feel blonde This is great when your hair has been over processed or you want to grow out your natural colour. It’s great for blending and not having to do your roots every 5 weeks. #beforeandafter #colourmelt #blondemelt #blondespecialist #blondehair #hairstylistlife #naturalhairstylist #hamiltonhairsalon #hamiltonhairstylist #hamiltonontario #smashhair #byeroots #byeblondehair #healthyblondes

Back to work!! This week I am back and ready for hair! I can’t wait to have more hair content for you! Like this beautiful warm balayage on my fellow twin mama @sabriinaarago Balayage is sooo great for a lived in look. Very low maintenance, especially when the tones are more subtle. This is definitely a good look for lockdown days because as it grows out, no roots and looks even better!... #warmbalayage #brunette #brunettebalayage #balayage #hair #livedinhair #longhair #balayagecolour #warmcolour #brunettehairideas #brunettehairinspo #balayageinspo #brunetteandblonde

Would you believe this blonde has no toner?! I will be honest and tell you that I edited this photo slightly because the lighting in the original did NOT do it justice!! Aaaaaand I did use toning shampoo but that’s it! When I last did my clients hair, she lifted so perfectly and so light that I felt a toning shampoo would be all she needed and I couldn’t have been happier with the result. To tone this, I used Schwartzkopf Goodbye Yellow shampoo and damn t...hat shit works magic!! #blondehair #blondetones #blondie #helloblonde #hamiltonhair #hamiltonstylist #hamiltonsalon #blondegoals #blondespecialist #professionalcolour #hairprofessional #schwartzkopf #behindthechair #professionalhairartist #colourspecialist See more

Same hair different light. Lighting is EVERYTHING for hair photos. Natural light is best. These two photos are taken with natural light, her steeping into more natural gave her a brighter overall tone. Be mindful of when you leave the salon and get home that your colour will and may look different. We can’t always have the perfect hair shot. It doesn’t mean you still don’t have perfect hair

There comes a time when your hair is too processed to handle the blonde. When you come to terms with the fact your hair isn’t what it used to be and that you ACTUALLY DO NEED THAT HAIRCUT, it makes my job easier! It makes my job of giving you the best hair I can because you are willing to make it look healthy. My client Becky had been doing bleach and tones for quite a while and when I last saw her she knew she needed to make some changes! She had lots of ...damage to her fine hair over time and was ready for a goood cut and tone down. You can still feel blonde without getting rid of all of it. Here I did a full head of lowlites, with some hilites through the top and then a melt and tone to finish. *My client also made sure to purchase GOOD HAIR products! She bought the full Olaplex system (see previous post on Olaplex) See more

I may just be mixing up more colour in the next few day’s. With a potential lockdown coming our way, I may be extending my hour’s to accommodate what I can appointments wise. I will be in touch with all my clients that are booked if arrangements need to be made. This is of course not ideal and patience is always appreciated as we all navigate through this crazy time! Stay well beauties!

This was SUCH a fun transformation! Swipe to see the before!! If there’s anything we can learn from this year, it’s that transformations come in all forms. We’ve all had time to dive into ourselves and make small or big changes. Being in the line of work I am, I’ve had quite a few client’s actually take the playful hair colour plunge! Mostly because they’ve been working from home or don’t have to go into the office as much. Either way, I’m here for it! There are so many variations of how we can be playful yet still ourselves with hair colour. Maybe a big change isn’t for you but TRUST! There are some fun options out there. Let me know if there’s been something you’ve been wanting to try or just curious about.

Are you willing to put in the work? I’ll ask my clients this question whenever they’re thinking about making dramatic changes to their hair colour. ... Whether you plan on going lighter or darker, there is maintenance involved in making the switch. If you’re wanting light blonde or full bleach and tone, are you willing to invest in the maintenance appointments? GOING LIGHT IS A PROCESS!!!! It takes multiple appointments to even get you blonde!!! I don’t want it to break off. Are you also willing to buy the necessary shampoo and conditioner to help maintain your hair? Your hair will not feel the same after a bleaching service and drug store stuff won’t cut it, I promise. I think it’s so important to rock the hair that makes us feel like our playful selves and the most confident! But it’s also important to think about the commitment to our hair so that we can have hair that looks bomb (and healthy) all the time. See more

It’s Tuesday!! Maybe that’s not super exciting for most but I am super excited for this whole week!! Mostly for this weekend. I have a couple Pro tips for you all as some of you may be styling your hair for this weekend or literally any day of your life lol If you have been trying to perfect those flat iron curls and it’s just not freaking happening, try this. If you know how to curl your hair with a curling iron (the Hot Tools in this photo is my GO-TO) just use that!! Be ...sure to have your flat iron on hand cuz we’ll be using that later. Curl your hair as you would with the curling iron, sectioning is KEY! Take your brush, I like my paddle brush or even a wide tooth comb, brush/comb out those curls. Now, take that flat iron and just TAP it through the hair. This will help to drop some of that bounce in the curls. Take you flat iron and just smooth the ends slightly. Finish it off with your fav spray. I like something light so the hair moves. That’s it!! This may sound like mumbo jumbo but you are just OVERTHINKING it! It’s hair! It’s not meant to be complicated. Read this again and again if you have to. I know some of us need visuals and some of us need to words to understand. Oh and ASK ME QUESTIONS! If you need help at your next hair appointment, don’t hesitate to ask this girl what’s up! I don’t want you to ever feel like you can’t at least achieve some styling at home!
