As Spring starts, we are getting more and more phone calls about red bites on your dogs stomach. We wanted to give everyone this information, these are a type o...f fly bite, and dogs generally get them from laying in the grass. They look terrible, but usually do not bother the dogs. They heal quickly on their own, and do not require any treatment. These flies are usually around for a few weeks every spring and then go away. We hope this eases any worry that you may have had about your own dog! If you have any concerns please feel free to call the clinic for more information! See more

We are starting to see these bites on some patients and wanted to let you know what they are. They are black fly bites and the dogs usually get them from laying... in the grass or walking around on grass. They most commonly occur on the inside of the rear legs and on the belly. They look terrible but usually don't bother the dogs at all and they resolve quickly on their own and don't require ANY treatment. The black flies are around for a few weeks every Spring and then they go away. We will likely see an increase in their activity with the coming warmer weather late this week. We are happy to see your pet should you want us to look at them and be sure it is not something more serious. Hey everyone! Yes as of Tuesday I will be open again!. Please note appts are NOT first come first served.... What I have done was I made a list in order of everyone I had to cancel on during this time I was closed and I will be going down that list and rescheduling everyone in. ** matted dogs will be prioritized ** If you would like to be added to that list let me know. I’ll be honest it might take a while before I can get to you but I always try my best to get everyone in as soon as I can. All prebooked appts will be honoured as of Tuesday. Please be patient with me during this time as I’m receiving a lot of calls/texts and messages and It might take 1-2 business days to get back to you! If you think I forgot about you, your welcome to message again to bump your name up as it may happen and I apologize. ** if you think your dog is in desperate need of grooming please send me pictures of your dogs condition and I will asses the situation and possible get you in sooner for the well being of the dog** At this time I will not be accepting new clients but am hoping after a couple months I will be again.
