Different strokes for different folks. Haiku poems consist of 3 lines. The first and last lines of a Haiku have 5 syllables and the middle line has7 syllables. The lines rarely rhyme. In the Netflix family movie; Yes day the concept of always saying yes to your children, with rules in place is presented. I found this movie to have good funny moments with a mixture of corny unrealistic scenarios. The title of this short story is too broad I guess, I’m sure that without fur...ther specific details and instructions it can be misconstrued and interpreted in many different ways, stay with me though. Let’s rewind to one of my initial residential camp experiences. Since this summer camp, like most of the other residential summer camps I worked at was close to open water the camp had a speed boat and a hotdog shaped floatation device the kids would sit on. Everyone would sit on the Hot Dogger and with the dawning of a life jacket we all prepared for an exhilarating ride. The speed boat would go for a while, then take a sharp turn leaving everyone, counsellors too momentarily airborne. We would then have to swim back to the boat, which was not too far and then climb back up and brace ourselves for another voyage. The kids loved this activity, if they could have done this every day all day they would have. I on the other hand strongly detested it. Not because I am opposed to having fun or water activities. It was because I would get back first. Then often I would have to jump off and help the campers swim back and pull themselves up. Granted these were younger kids. Therefore, their muscles and endurance had not been developed yet or at all, requiring myself and other counsellors to hate hearing senior counsellors ask the kids, Do you guys want to have fun today? The boat is quite fun. Everyone enjoys it, this ride should never be done. Let’s go again.

Serendipity I believe that there is no such thing as luck. There is a rhyme and reason to everything no matter the circumstances. Although things may get dicey and seem impossible to return to normality the speeding train of life eventually gets back on track. When the SARs pandemic occurred many years ago, I, like many other people, was desperately in the hunt for a job and was having no success or luck finding one. You should try going online to, "Charity village. The ...words of my brother’s girlfriend now his wife lead me onto a journey that undoubtedly changed my life and the lives of many children and families, for I was able to secure a job with the Boys and Girls club of peel Region. Fresh out of Sheridan college with my degree in special needs Education assistance I had an interview with the school board There’s a school that needs assistance right away, wouldyou be interested? My interest turned into five great years at West Credit Secondary school. There’s a lady at my workplace who has a son who needs help with his school work, I gave her your name I hope you don’t mind. I did not mind then and am so grateful she did because now "Mexico" is a part of my life. I know of this really cool camp; you should apply to. Beatrice was right in applying to camp Towhee not only was the experience life changing but I got to meet the Three Amigos. Guys I have an idea for this interview I have with the YMCA, tell me what you think. With a box of Lego in one hand and a golf club in the other, I landed a great job and luck had nothing to do with it. See more

While cleaning out my closet I do not like to throw things away. By things I don’t mean perishable food items, I’m referring to mementos. Recently I came across a box of items that at one point healed significant memories to me. Many items are notes or pictures kids made for me or are about me while at camp. This note was a shout out to me from a camper named Dylan. He was a camper at camp Towhee, he never was in my cabin though. The camp had a movie night and the film S...chool of Rock starring Jack Black was playing. In the movie there was a particular song that I thought and still do think is cool. One day, thinking no one could hear me, and forgetting where I was, I started to sing the song. You know that’s not how it goes right? I know, I was just singing it like that to see if anybody would be able to notice." We developed a friendship based on that. At one of the evening activities the children had to make deals from different fictitious vendors who were counsellors. As time was coming to a close I remember Dylan had approached my booth, looking to make a deal, he had no money left but was in desperate need of supplies. Sing the song from School of Rock, that you said I was singing wrong and you can have whatever you want for free." I honestly thought that he would have given me a wise guy answer, not do it and move on because he was at the age where his voice would crack forcing the clarity and volume level of it to fluctuate in tone. With his face now red from potential embarrassment he sang the song. He wasn’t a diamond in the rough and this isn’t his origin story. I fulfilled my end of the deal and gave him the supplies he requested. He now has to be in his late twenties early thirties, I do hope he is doing well. I wonder what other memories I have that are contained in this box locked in the recesses of my mind.? See more
