We have wonderful news to share! In September, Shawnee will be joining our Aspen Community as Sam’s student! Read her bio below ... My name is Shawnee and I’m a 3rd year midwifery student from Mount Royal University. I started on the road to becoming a midwife late in life, but my passion for birth started at an early age. Raising four kids has taught me a lot about patience, perseverance, trust and gratitude and I have brought those values along with me on this incredible journey of learning and applying the art of midwifery. I am so very grateful to the clients who allow space for learners and who invite us to share in the most sacred of moments. In my free time you can find me hanging out with family and friends and enjoying long walks. I love interior design, crocheting and spending time in the mountains. I might also be slightly obsessed with karaoke I look forward to getting to know you and your families. Here is a little peek into what is going to be a reading jungle for our Aspen kiddos once we are able to invite families back into the clinic space. Both of us Aspen Midwives love to involve siblings in prenatal care, and look forward to being able to welcome family members, support people, and siblings to clinic when it’s safe to do so once again!
