Bullying Awareness Week is November 16 to 20, 2020. It is a time to promote awareness and understanding of bullying and its impacts. Bullying is a relationship ...problem that involves a power imbalance, which is why it can be so challenging to overcome it by ourselves. Regardless of where bullying happens in school, the office, at home or in the community there are people and resources that can help. This year’s theme, #WhereToTurn, encourages everyone to learn where to turn when dealing with bullying. Here are a few ways you can take part in Bullying Awareness Week: - share bullying prevention resources on social media - the Bullying Helpline (1-888-456-2323) is available 24/7 in over 170 languages - start a discussion with your friends, family or coworkers about how to intervene - write a letter or email to the editor of your local newspaper or radio station about the importance of promoting healthy relationships

On World Teacher Day it is an honor to recognize the teachers in my life, past and present, and in particular the teachers in Aspen View Public Schools. I am in...credibly proud of the work that Aspen View teachers do in their schools and their communities to inspire young people and shape the future. My goal continues to be to provide the supports to enable students and teachers to excel. I also want to recognize the supporting cast in Aspen View that allows teachers and students to achieve. This includes support staff, division office staff, custodians, bus drivers, student services consultants, maintenance and technology staff. The support they provide is essential, valued and appreciated. I encourage each of you, on World Teacher Day, to reflect on those teachers who influenced you, or teachers who you know are making a difference in the lives of children today. Reach out to them with a word of thanks or gratitude. Not only will it make their day, but spreading positivity enriches our own lives.
