Aspen View Public Schools 30.12.2020

Alberta Education announced that K-12 students will move to at-home learning for the week of January 4-8, 2021 and will resume in-person learning on January 11. During this first week back, school offices will remain open and administration will be available should you have any questions. Student learning will continue during this time and your child’s teacher would have been in contact with you regarding curriculum delivery and content.

Aspen View is offering a Computer Science, Coding and Robotics Dual Credit opportunity in partnership with Portage College and the University of Saskatchewan. Upon completion, students will receive 3 college level credits, and up to 7 high school credits. Students will be challenged to learn how computational thinking can be used to strengthen their ability to approach problem-solving across many disciplines. Students will gain practical hands-on experience in three main area...s: coding; circuit-building and microcontrollers; and robotics. Pre- or co-requisites for this course are English 30 and Math 30. There is no cost to students for this course, but the maximum cohort is 30 students so act quickly application deadline is Dec. 18, 2020. Bullying Awareness Week is November 16 to 20, 2020. It is a time to promote awareness and understanding of bullying and its impacts. Bullying is a relationship problem that involves a power imbalance, which is why it can be so challenging to overcome it by ourselves. Regardless of where bullying happens in school, the office, at home or in the community there are people and resources that can help.
