This picture is from an article a few weeks ago. The first thing that pops out is how clean the site looks. This is an oil sands well pad layout that uses an in situ or in place method of producing heavy oil. In in situ recovery, wells are drilled to extract the heavy oil instead of open pit mining with large trucks and excavators. According to the Alberta Energy Regulator, around 80 per cent of the oil from Alberta’s oil sands are produced using this method that mini...mizes impact on the environment. Check out the AER site for more information and please share. https://www.aer.ca/providing-i//oil-sands/in-situ-recovery #oilsands, #oilandgasindustry, #energy, #stayinformed, https://www.jwnenergy.com//imperial-announces-450mm-cold-/

We are putting the final touches on the internal coating of this 10ft. diameter x 70ft. long oil treater. One of the big advantages of refurbishing old equipment at Crimtech is that we have the equipment and facilities to complete all the work at one location. Our heated 40ft. x 60ft. sandblast building and a 40ft. x 90ft. paint shop saves the customer time and money having all this work completed at one shop. It also significantly decreases the customers effort managing a big retrofit project like this by dealing with only one company. Call us today at (403) 908-0917 or [email protected] to discuss how we can use our experience and facilities to refurbish equipment on your next project.

We just completed the expansion of our north yard last week, before the big dump of snow. This all weather access yard (made from recycled asphalt) will consolidate our inventory of 450+ oil & gas process equipment pieces to one location. With the facility being located right next to the QEII highway, it reduces the cost of transportation and makes it easy for our customers to view equipment. Now the big job of moving the equipment from the other yards to this central location. We’ll keep you posted of our progress. Stay tuned! #oilandgas #oilandgasequipment #recycle

Crimtech completed another modification to this Fluid Withdrawal Meter Skid for a major pipeline company. We have been involved with this project since 2013. The project literally started out as an idea on a napkin and has progressed into a series of modifications based on field use. This year the change was to mount the skid on a trailer so that it can be easily moved to test any of the company’s network of pipelines within Canada and the US. The Fluid Withdrawal Meter Sk...id is used by the Company to simulate a pipeline leak and test how fast the simulated leak is detected within their existing control system. The setup and planning for the simulation is a major effort in planning and execution. Before the Fluid Withdrawal Meter Skid was built computer models were used to simulate a pipeline leak. The pipeline Company decided computer models were not good enough and wanted to physically remove fluids from the pipeline to see how quickly their leak detection system reacted. This is a shining example of the pipeline Company’s commitment to pipeline safety and Crimtech is proud to be a part of it. Contact us at (403) 908-0917 or [email protected] to discuss how we can bring your idea to reality. #pipelinesafety #pipelineintegrity #pipelines #canadianenergy

This new 40 foot, 16 pass, process coil for a large 8.0 million BTU\hr line heater is off to the oven for post weld heat treating. Just one step in the refurbishing process to bring new life to an old piece of equipment. Utilizing existing equipment lowers the cost of bringing on production in this economically challenging environment. Stretch your budget even further by leasing equipment from Crimtech. Contact us at (403) 908-0917 or [email protected] to discuss our refurbishing and leasing programs. https://www.crimtech.com/crimtech-lease-and-rental-program/

Crude by rail traffic out of Western Canadian oil fields have jumped by more than 25,000 bbls/d in July. Crude by rail averaged over 300,000 bbls/d in July, compared to 286,701 bbls/d in June. It’s anticipated this trend will continue to grow. I look at this picture and wonder how long does it take for this train to cross that road. How long do local residents, or an ambulance, have to wait to cross this road? Check out the graph in this article by JWN Energy. Clearly shows we need more pipeline capacity. https://www.jwnenergy.com//9/canadian-crude-rail-jumps-ju/ #pipelines #crudebyrail
