Spoons... Yes, you read that right. You should be thinking about spoons. We've seen some amazing innovations in spoons for people with neurological disorders . ... We love the simplicity of the Eli Spoon. It has counter weights and pivot points to keep the spoon scoop level no matter the orientation of the handle. https://evika.io/product/ELISPOON_ELISPOON Similar to the Eli Spoon, the Liftware Level is a self leveling spoon, designed to keep your food on the spoon scoop, regardless of your hand position. It's also great for people who might not be able to hold the spoon with the handle in a level position, perhaps due to spasticity. Check out the Liftware here: https://evika.io/product/LIFTWARE_LEVEL_STARTER_KIT The Gyenno is an electronic gadget designed to stabilize the attached utensil (could be a spoon or a fork) and reduces the effect of hand tremors up to 85%! Nifty! https://evika.io/product/GYENNO_ANTI-TREMOR_SPOON There is so much innovation out there to help people eat independently. Please spend some time thinking about spoons today! If you come across any cool innovations, send them our way! #independentliving #evikaliving #disabilities #gyenno #liftware #elispoon #eating

Today is National Carers Day. A #CARER is a person who takes on an unpaid caregiving role for a family member or friend living with disability, injury, or illness. Carers play an invaluable role in the lives of those they assist, and in the larger healthcare community. 1 in 4 Canadians is a carer, which means you probably know someone in this role. Take a moment today to recognize this person and thank them for all that they give & do. If you're a CARER, we know that caregivi...ng can be rewarding, but it certainly isn't always easy. A number organizations offer support for carers. Check out the Ontario Caregiver Coalition for more information and links to local resources. http://www.ontariocaregivercoalition.ca/caregiver-resources #ATCeducates #ATCappreciates #NationalCarersDay #CaregiverAwareness #thnxforcaring

Baycrest is a global leader in cognitive neurosciences and memory research, with a special focus on brain health and aging. Baycrest clinicians put research into practice each day through a variety of evidence-based programs and services for older adults. Together, Baycrest researchers and clinicians have developed Cogniciti, a free resource to screen for memory changes in adults over the age of 40. Follow the link to learn your brain health score, and to access Cogniciti's free online brain health information and tools. https://cogniciti.com/ #BAW #Brainawareness #HealthyAging #ATCeducates
