CHECK AROUND YOUR WINDOWS AND DOORS. During cold snaps, the inside air will try to escape, gravitating to the windows, doors and attic hatches. Any insulation voids will be replaced with frost buildup forming various sizes of ice cubes. During each thaw that follows, these ice cubes melt and this water will trickle towards the path of least resistance. Now is the time to check below and around windows and doors, and around attic hatches and bathroom fans for signs of water. ...If you find water or dampness, dry out the materials right away. Promote aggressive air circulation: Set up fans, open the curtains & blinds, lift carpet if needed. Monitor and test with a pinned or audible moisture tester (Princess Auto) to detect last remaining moisture (or stuff in colored paper towel for wicking). If water continues to appear during or after 3 days, you may have larger ice cube and a bigger problem. A thermal scan will provide quick answers as to whether a more invasive investigation should be considered and how soon. Message or call if you have questions. Don't forget to like and share this tip. Thanks! See more

I just had to re-post this one. I heard of lots of shingles, siding, and downed trees. And nothing like getting the jeep power washed on Anthony Henday yesterday! Looking forward to the longest day of the year coming up.

Has anyone else heard that 3 months after winter fog, expect a big dump of snow? I was told that during our two weeks of fog in January. Farmers Almanac or coincidence? Either way, hope this doesn't carry on for two weeks.
